After I import the selected photos via Lightroom and then open Picasa, it detects the new photo folder I have added to my Pictures and then sets up its database (or whatever it technically does under the covers) so that the new album can be viewed in Picasa. Jim, I have tried Picasa many times over the years and found it always dragged every picture in my PC in as it was downloading. I eventually stopped using it, as I use CS5 also, but I use ACDSee as it allows me to put exif under each image and also processes if you wish. The ability to 'see' the shot is more important than the gear used to capture it. For many people, the tools in Picasa are really all they need. there is Lomo, Holga, Infrared, duo-tone, cross-process and many more. much like some of the Apps for the iPhone. The latest version of Picasa (Version 3.9.0) has added some interesting tools to the package. I've never cared for Adobe's bridge program and for that reason, I use Picasa. There will be some who think this is nuts but it works for me.
